Heart 2 Heart Sisters Banner at Convention, Portland, by Susan Vang
I would like to share the banner from our National Convention with you. This is the banner from the Heart to Heart Booth in Portland. The theme of the banner is, “ALL NATIONS UNDER GOD” (Matthew 28:18-20). “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And, surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.”
The people (Psalm 96:3) “Declare His Glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all people.” (Colossians 3:23). “Therefore, as God’s chosen people holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” We were born into different races, have different cultures and came from different countries. God created each of us unique with different color of skins and hair as the people in this banner. But we are all God’s chosen people. Through faith in Jesus, God forgave all our sins and we are His precious and loving children. God wants us to have compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience to the world.
The hands –God created each of us to have two hands so we can use our hands to do work for Him. We use our hands to cook, clean, work, drive, feed ourselves, and to help other people. We also use our hands to clap and raise up in joy when we sing songs to praise our God.
Purple Heart – we gave thanks to all the LWML societies for their friendship in loving hearts for their faithful support of the Districts and the missionaries all around the world. A special thanks to the National LWML for the Heart to Heart Program to help ethnic women across the countries to have fellowship and to experience the ministry of LWML. May God continue to bless you and your ministry.
Red heart – (Acts 22:15) “You will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.” It is the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ; He died on the cross so our sins can be forgiven. We love Jesus by sharing His love to others so that they too can be saved from their sins and have eternal life in heaven.
Golden cross – (John 3:16) “For God so love the world that He gave His one and only Son to die for the world.” The golden cross reminds us of Jesus’ beating by the Roman soldiers. They crucified Him on the cross for all of our sins. The cross also reminds us that Jesus is present with us every day.
