Wendorf will ride on The Lutheran Hour float as well as sing in the choir featured on the float, entitled “Hallelujah!” This year’s parade theme is “Hats Off to Entertainment.” The Lutheran Hour float is the only Christian float participating in the world's most famous media event. The float is made possible in part through the hard work and dedication of the Petal Pushers®, a group of more than 4,000 volunteers who decorate the Lutheran Hour float and other entries in the parade. To find out more information on the Petal Pushers® and the float, go to the Petal Pushers® Web site at www.petalpushers.org. While on the Web site, view a webcam of the float being assembled by clicking on Phoenix Decorating. The Lutheran Hour Ministries has been proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Tournament of Roses Parade for the past 59 years.
The Lutheran Hour float is unit No. 37 and is scheduled to appear in the first half of the parade. The Tournament of Roses Parade will be aired without commercial interruption on HGTV beginning at 8 a.m. PST.
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.
