130 Attend Rally in Bishkek
According to Missionary Sue Pfeil, March 10th brought women from 20 churches, villages and groups to the Bishkek church for a day of celebrating International Women's Day with prayer, Bible study and fellowship.
Over 130 ladies crowded onto the church room that normally sits 75-80 people. Some traveled up to 6 hours just to get here. "We were planning for 100 and even thought that was high, but we prepared for 110, just in case! We were so surprised but very delighted. God is so Good!" says Sue.
The day started with singing and then a greeting from our sisters in Christ from America. The Opening Worship lead by Ludmilla, the City Evangelist, using the LWML Prayer Service from last year, 'Let there Be Light.' It was translated into Russian so everyone could participate and pray.
The topic for the day was led by Sue, who presented a Bible Study on the Proverbs 31 Woman. We all learned just how we can become all God wants us to be! After a bountiful lunch and much fellowship, we were all a bit full and tired.
So before we started the afternoon, we were led in some exercises from God's Word. It was a lot of fun and really got the blood flowing again. We finished our Bible study and discussion about how we can become like the woman in Proverbs 31.
Our day ended with a skit called Invasion of Love. We even involved our guard to fill the role of God, as he was the only male voice available! Three orders of business were discussed. One, approximately $20 was collected during the service and all voted it to be used for the four orphanages that our churches help; two, with a rousing cheer, it is now a tradition to have another rally this year in the Fall, and we pray the new church building will be complete so we have more room, and finally, we want our sisters in Christ in America to know we feel very close to them in our prayers and wait to meet you some day. Hopefully soon and in this world, but most definitely in heaven!
There were girls 6 and 7 years old, a couple of teenagers and the four oldest women who attended were all 80 years old! Sadly, one of them has not yet accepted Jesus in her heart. She is part of the Grannie Group that Sue meets every month. Please keep Nina and Elmira (who also attended and do not know Jesus) in your prayers that they soon will know His love.
On a personal note, Sue would like to thank the many of you that have given us gifts to use where there is a need. Those gifts help pay for today's Spring Rally, including all the food we served, the folders and pens each received and the transportation for the ladies to make the trip to Bishkek.
With blessings from the Proverbs 31 Women of Kyrgyzstan who love their Lord!
