St. John's, West Bend, is mobilizing people to travel to Mobile, AL, where our South Wisconsin District has been asked to partner with Our Savior's Lutheran Church there to help Katrina survivors.
Kits that are ready and are delivered to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 462 Meadowbrook Dr., West Bend, Saturday, between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., will be taken to Mobile this week by members of St. John's Church. (The LWML Board of Directors meets at Pilgrim Saturday, so contact your zone president today, Friday, Sept. 16, if you have boxes of kits ready to go.) For directions to the church see the website
www.pilgrimlutheran-westbend.org.
Be sure to label the boxes as to their intended recipients: babies, children, adult women, adult men.
This method of shipment saves you shipping costs. The South Wisconsin LCMS is covering the costs of gas for the vehicles of the St. John's volunteers.
Further directions regarding the kits are available on this website on the News Page.
Kits still may betaken to the Bultmann Trucking or to Pilgrim later, as the need is ongoing. Boxes left at these sites will be picked up by the St. John's workers and taken to Mobile by teams going there in subsequent weeks.
