CHURCHWORKER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE. The SWD LWML has been blessed to be able to award scholarships each year since 1991 to women preparing for church work in the LCMS. An endowment was established to assist women in their undergraduate education. The number and amount of scholarships varies from year to year depending on the funds available that year. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2012-2013 school year.
Who May Apply? Active female members of SWD congregations who are residents of the SWD prior to college and are preparing for full-time service in the church are encouraged to apply. An applicant must be enrolled in one of the educational institutions of the Synod for the 2012-2013 school year. Full-time service in the church is defined as any position available through the Board of Assignments of the Synod.
How to Apply? The application and instructions are available on this website. The application must be completed and submitted by April 30, 2012.
