Green Lake Conference Center, on the shores of beautiful Green Lake will once again be the site for the SWD – LWML Fall Retreat from Friday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 30. On Saturday, Dr. Paul L. Maier will address the retreat under the theme “Our Consistent God in a Changing World.” Dr. Maier is the Russell H. Seibert Professor of Ancient History emeritus at Western Michigan University, the Third Vice-President of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, and a much-published author of both scholarly and popular works. Friday evening will feature presentations on the mission grant projects for this biennium. Informal fellowship will follow including (weather permitting), an old-fashioned bonfire with singing & s’mores or indoor board games, servant events and fellowship. On Saturday evening, we will enjoy an appearance by the Cody Clauson Band of Coloma. This year’s servant event will benefit Phil’s Friends, a group that ministers to cancer victims. A devotional walk, to be enjoyed individually or in small groups on the lovely grounds of the conference center will also be featured. The retreat will close with a worship & communion service on Sunday morning. More information with registration details will be available soon. Mark your calendars and save the date to enjoy this time of inspiration & fellowship with your LWML sisters.
