Church Worker Scholarships Awarded for 2011-2012 School Year. Five outstanding young women preparing for full-time church work have received scholarships from the SWD-LWML for the current school year. Each of the following young women was awarded $500.00 to help with college expenses.

CACIA SCHELER—a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran, Watertown. Cacia will be a sophomore at Concordia University Wisconsin with double majors of nursing and missions, preparing to be a medical missionary.

RACHEL BOHNHOFF—a member of St John Lutheran in Plymouth. Rachel will be a freshman at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska majoring in Secondary Education.

HEIDI SCHECK—a member of Zion Lutheran, Menomonee Falls. Heidi will be a junior at Concordia University Chicago majoring in Elementary Education.

REBECCA SCHLICHTING—a member of St. John Lutheran, Plymouth. Rebecca will be a junior at Concordia University Chicago majoring in Elementary Education.

EMILY EHLERT—a member of Peace Lutheran in Neenah. Emily will be a sophomore at Concordia University Wisconsin majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Please pray for these women regularly, as well as for those who applied who we were not able to help financially this school year. We have many very dedicated young women in our district who will be good leaders and role models in the church. It was inspiring to read their essays and references.

Pray that their faith will remain strong, that they will do well in their studies and that they serve the Lord with joy. Send them notes of encouragement and show interest in their progress as you have opportunity.

“How can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching for them?” Romans 10:14
