You may be thinking, “How is LOVE an action word?” Well…let me tell you! The love of Christ and the love for our fellow sisters and brothers is demonstrated in all of the activities that women in the LWML participate in. Love is constantly in motion! Now you are being offered another exciting opportunity to participate in this action!
You are invited to join us the weekend of June 22-23, 2012 on the beautiful campus of Concordia University, Mequon, for the South Wisconsin District LWML convention. You will have many opportunities to demonstrate your love for others while you grow in your Christian faith. These two days will be filled with worship, servant opportunities, singing, Bible study, and time to spend in fellowship with others while enjoying the beauty of the shore of Lake Michigan. Rev. Dr. Daniel Paavola will lead us in Bible Study on Friday. Rev. Dr. Dien Ashley Taylor will not only lead us in song as we lift our voices to the Lord, but will be our keynote speaker for the weekend. We will hear from Katie Lane, former Concordia University student, as she describes her experience as a volunteer missionary with LCMS in Peru, and current Concordia University student, Natasha Weiss, who will speak to us about “Casas por Cristo”.
Delegates are needed to assist in deciding on our mission grants and other important business matters. Society presidents have been sent the delegate material. The application for delegates needs to be returned to your zone president no later than January 15, 2012. Prayerfully consider the opportunity to represent your society and serve with other fellow sisters in Christ of the LWML.
General registration forms will be available beginning in 2012. Details will be updated at: www.swd-lwml.org, and materials will be mailed to your societies.
Whether you will be attending as a voting delegate, involved in the official business of SWD LWML, or as a member of the district, everyone will discover a way in which they can “demonstrate their love”… “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
