Some questions and concerns have surfaced regarding the LWML Fall Retreat planned for September 23-25 at the Green Lake Conference Center. President Jan Dankwardt put the following information together to address these questions:

First - regarding the walking. It is about a one block walk from the meeting room to the cafeteria (just across the street) It is slightly uphill and they have provided a ramp that is like a switch back that you can use (there are also stairs) that would make the walk easier.
If you need help getting a wheel chair up the ramp, just ask someone and I know they would be delighted to help you. If you cannot make it that far by walking, we are working with the facility to provide carts or some kind of vehicle that could drive you over. Please don't let this keep you from attending.
Housing: If you are staying at the Roger Williams Inn, you only need to get in the elevator to get up to the floor your room is on as you will be in the same building as the main meeting area.
The next question is regarding doing a partial retreat. Yes you can do that. But.......please let your ladies know that on Friday evening they will be hearing Rev. Jeske as he presents a Bible Study on Spiritual Gifts. Also, Rev. Gudmundson will be helping us to do a Spiritual Gifts Discovery. If you only attend on Saturday, you will receive these papers in your folder but you will miss out on an important part of the retreat. Pastor Jeske will also do an evening devotion and sing along around a bon fire on Friday evening for those that would like to attend. There will be an alternate activity for those who choose not to participate in the bon fire.
On Saturday we will begin with a Prayer Walk for those that are interested (6:30 a.m.). After Breakfast (7:30-8:30) we will hear Pr. Jeske speak on how we can use those spiritual gifts we have learned about ............"Serving God with Gladness and Joy." We will have the offering and then at 10:45 there will be breakouts, followed by lunch.
In the afternoon we will hear KOU VANG speak to us about the experiences this Hmong lady had as a child and some of the very unusual things she was taught about Jesus. The LWML players will have a skit for us and then another set of breakouts. June Richter will wrap up with a program about "Cookies". Then some free time. Dinner from 5:00-6:00. Our evening program will begin with a presentation from the Acacia Theater (a professional group) called, "Handmaiden of the Lord." We have a few more surprises in store for you and you will again enjoy June Richter as she does a presentation on "Snoring."
We have tried to include time for you to enjoy the beautiful Conference Center grounds and give you time to spend alone with the Lord. Of course, these sessions are not mandatory and you can take that personal time whenever you like. You may also want to check out the International Store that is located on the grounds.
On Sunday morning we will have breakfast, check out, and then at 9:30 we will have a worship service with communion. I know you will want to attend this special time of worship as you contemplate how you will take this back for your own life and ministry. You will definitely not want to miss this wrap-for our retreat as we reflect on who we are in the Body of Christ.
If you have any questions about housing or meals, these can be answered by the staff at the Conference Center. I would encourage you to ask as many questions as you like so that you really understand the program. They are very willing to set up a special package for you if you are unable to attend the whole retreat. Just ask.
Please pass this information on to all who would be interested. Thank you.
Blessings as You Live on the Edge With Jesus,
Jan
