The summer months are upon us and while many societies do not meet during June, June and August, the work of our mites continues. The current mite grant for which we are collecting is a grant of $15,000 for the Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Food Bank.
Local societies are encouraged to continue collecting mites and remitting them to the District throughout the summer.
The Concordia Seminary Food Bank is a ministry that exists to serve future pastors and theologians of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod by aiding with the physical needs of students and student families through food and grocery items. In doing so, the Concordia Seminary Food Bank operates exclusively through donations of food, grocery items, and monetary contributions.
This mission grant will be used to purchase grocery staples, produce, bakery goods and bread, personal care and baby items for Seminary students and families. By granting the Concordia Seminary, St. Louis Food Bank $15,000 the Lord God will work through our mites to help feed approximately 42 men, women and children per month.
