Current Grant Project: Church Worker Student Grants - $30,000. We all know that the need for pastors, teachers, and other professional church workers is critical both to serve the church at large and in the mission field. It is encouraging that the South Wisconsin District had over 170 church work students enrolled in one of our Synodical schools and 35 enrolled in one of our seminaries during the 2009 and 2010 school year.
However, the average total annual expense at a Synodical school is currently $30,000 to $38,000 per school year. In order to help relieve the indebtedness that has forced some to delay their Christian education or to drop out of college entirely, this grant money will be used for scholarships for South Wisconsin District students attending one of our Synodical colleges or seminaries in preparation for full-time service in the church.
