Volunteer Opportunity: Friday, September 24, 2010. Meet, greet, eat and converse with International and American students attending UW-Milwaukee. Engage in conversation over a Chinese meal, help build relationships and bridges of friendship.
Come to Luther Memorial Chapel, near the campus for the meal at 6 pm or arrive early to help prepare the meal at 3 pm. Dumplings will be made at 5 pm. (Cleanup duty at 7 pm. is another way to volunteer!) If you come for the meal, you may bring a side dish if you like (optional).
Luther Memorial Chapel is located at 3833 N. Maryland Avenue, Shorewood. Call 414.477.9448 or 414.332.5732, or send an e-mail to Bessie.fick@yahoo.com to reserve your spot; or just show up at the designated time.
Many International students, some from countries which do not allow Christian missionaries, come to the United States for their education, which provides us the opportunity to intentionally share Jesus’ love with them. This “Meet, Greet, and Eat” event is designed to get to know these students and thus provide a foundation for sharing our faith with them.
