| Grant #8 Paid! | Praise God for Whom All Blessing Flow

We have now paid grant #8, Seminary Training for Church Workers, Pakistan (POBLO) $12,000. We are excited to be moving on to grant #9. There are less than 8 months left of this biennium and we have 5 more grants to fulfill . Let’s keep those mite boxes overflowing with our mites and our prayers.
Grant Number 9
LUTHERAN WOMEN IN MISSION-CAMP LUWISOMO
Lutheran Women in Mission is currently collecting mites to fulfill a commitment made to Camp LuWiSoMo through a mite grant. The amount that we need to fulfill the grant is $22,000.
You may know that Camp LuWiSoMo has been closed for the past year because of a lack of funding. This does not mean that they have not been working. They are hoping to open their new dining hall in 2012 and will be ready this year for a camp filled with kids. The funds from our grant will help some children from the inner cities of Milwaukee and Madison to attend camp and learn, perhaps the first time, about Jesus.

Watch for updates on how we are doing on meeting our goals.
| | Grant #3 Paid! | Linda Christensen, our VP of Human Care and Grants, is pleased to announced that Grant #3, $5,000 to Trinity/HOPE (Haiti Lunch Program) has been paid. Pictured below is President Jan Dankwardt presenting the check to Mr. John Hall. Our mites are providing a hot, nutritious meal to the children in our Lutheran schools in Haiti. As they become Christians, they in turn witness to their family members at home. Many come to faith through the Holy Spirit and are converted from their hopeless practice of Voodoo.

| | First two District grants paid. | South Wisconsin District grants number 1 and 2 have been paid. Grant #1 is $9,700 to equip and train deaf leaders to spread the gospel in South Wisconsin District. Pictured below is President Jan Dankwardt presenting the grant check to Rev. John Reinke, Missionary Pastor with Lutheran Deaf Mission Society, South Wisconsin Branch.

Grant #2 is $8,500 to the South Wisconsin District Prison Ministry to minister to the incarcerated
at the County Correctional Facility – South, Franklin Wis. Pictured below are Chaplain Patrick Batom and Vicar Afam Ikanih from Free at Last Ministry.

| | 2010-2012 Mission Grants Calendar | A beautiful new tool is available to help you publicize information about our 2010-2012 mission grants. It is a 2-year calendar displaying the 2010-2012 grant recipients. The cover is our new theme for the 2010-2012 biennium. Two months are devoted to each grant. It is available to be printed off for your own personal use and to share with your societies. You can display it on your church LWML bulletin board and make copies for each member of your society. Use this calendar to keep track of current grants, mark important dates like society meetings, zone rallys, retreat dates, etc. As each grant is paid you can stamp a big PAID on it.
